Carbon monoxide alarm — Gas Safety Week

This week (14–20 September 2026) is Gas Safety Week. The national theme is simple: take no chances with gas in the home.

We are Gas Safe registered and work on gas boilers and gas appliances in Marlow and across Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire. The week is a reminder, not a sales event. Unsafe appliances and unregistered work still cause carbon monoxide cases, leaks and fires every year.

Three checks matter for a homeowner or landlord:

If you smell gas, do not look for the leak yourself. Open windows, turn the supply off at the meter if you can do so safely, leave the building and call the national gas emergency line on 0800 111 999. That number is not us. We deal with booked work once the network has made the situation safe.

Landlords still need a gas safety record on appliances they provide, at least every 12 months. Owner-occupiers are not under the same paper rule, but an annual boiler service is still the sensible winter habit and is often a condition of the manufacturer guarantee.

If your last service was more than a year ago, this week is a good time to book. Call 01628 901902 or use the contact form.
