Cadent Gas is undertaking essential upgrades to the gas pipeline infrastructure in Cookham, specifically along The Pound and Terry’s Lane, with an expected completion date of 4 October 2026. These enhancements aim to improve safety and reliability for residents and businesses in the area. During the course of these works, some disruptions may occur; however, Cadent is committed to minimising any inconvenience to the local community. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about the progress and any updates regarding the project.

Cadent is replacing ageing metal gas pipes in Cookham. Work on The Pound and Terry’s Lane runs from 27 July to 4 October 2026. The Terry’s Lane phase, with a road closure from The Pound to Poundfield Lane, starts on 15 September.

Cookham sits in our usual run from Marlow. If you live there, or you drive through for work or school, this is network work, not a Jericos job. Cadent is swapping old metallic mains for plastic pipe expected to last decades, so unplanned repairs should be less frequent.

What it means at the house:

We do not dig the road and we cannot change Cadent’s dates. What we can do is check the boiler and appliances once the supply is restored if the flame looks wrong, the boiler will not fire, or you have had a long interruption. Do not relight anything yourself if you are unsure.

If you smell gas at any point, leave the building and call 0800 111 999.

For a booked boiler check after the works, call 01628 901902.
